expedition_retirementSlovenia has only about 43km of coastline on the Adriatic Sea, with only a handful of seaside towns. Piran is one of them and is a popular resort town, with a long pier and a small harbor. The town is a medieval town that was under the control of the Venetians for centuries and therefore has a strong Italian vibe to it.
We spent two nights in Piran, staying at a guesthouse just off of the main square, the Tartini Plaza. After arriving, we went for a stroll to explore a little of the old town, and to walk along the waterfront. We also found a seafood restaurant where we had a delicious calamari dinner. The next day, after our ride, we took the opportunity to cool off after the ride with a dip into the sea at a swimming area on the north side of the point at the end of the town. We then had dinner and one last walk around the town before returning to our room to pack for our transfer following our morning ride the next day.
